The final College Football Playoff rankings have been unveiled and Ohio State will be heading to Pasadena instead of the playoffs as Oklahoma secured one of the final four playoff spots over Ohio State and Georgia as they join undefeated teams Alabama, Clemson and Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff.
While the Buckeyes may not get the chance to compete for a national championship this season, they have secured a Rose Bowl bid with their resounding 45-24 victory over Northwestern on Saturday night in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Ohio State will be playing in their first Rose Bowl since the 2009 season when they beat Chip Kelly’s Oregon Ducks, 26-17.
This time around, it will be the Washington Huskies that Ohio State will face as UW secured their Rose Bowl bid on Friday night with a win over Utah in the PAC-12 Championship Game.
Ohio State and Washington will face each other in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California on New Year’s Day.
