COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the first time since officially becoming the 25th head coach in the storied history of the Buckeye football program, Ryan Day had a chance to speak directly to Buckeye Nation as he made his first public appearance as head coach during halftime of Thursday night’s men’s basketball game.
Day addressed the crowd for a short span of time and introduced his entire ten-man coaching staff (except for running backs coach Tony Alford who was not able to make it to the game) as well as returning strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti.
Among those introduced were new assistant coaches Mike Yurcich, Greg Mattison, Jeff Hafley, Al Washington and Matt Barnes as well as returning assistants Larry Johnson, Kevin Wilson, Greg Studrawa and Brian Hartline – Hartline getting the largest applause for his achievements as a former Buckeye receiver.

It was a decent shot of adrenaline into the arms of Buckeye fans who are craving the return of their beloved football team, who are already well in the midst of winter workouts.
Buckeye fans won’t have to wait much longer to see some on-field action as Ohio State starts spring practices at the beginning of March and will host their annual spring football game on April 13th at Ohio Stadium.
